On Thursday 12th starts the Mojo Swing Festival and there is not better way to do it than sliding our shoes in Vegueta, the oldtown of the city.
We will be dancing in this emblematic quarter of Vegueta and after that we can eat “pinchos” (small dishes of food) in the different restaurants of the area, so we will get strenght for what is to come.
Stroll around the colonial-style streets of Vegueta is like travelling to the past of a city with more than five centuries of history, a city that has been the passage of historical characters like Christopher Columbus, a city that has suffered the greed of pirates from foreign lands due to its strategic location.
On Sunday 15th we will close the Festival with the best views. Just in the Promenade of Las Canteras we will do Gender bender, steal dancing and more surprises that will join fun and dance…
What about a sea bathe when we finish? Don´t forget to take the swimmsuit and the towel with you!
Las Canteras Beach is one of the most important city beaches in Spain, awarded with several national and international quality certificates, among them, the Q for Tourist Quality awarded by the ICTE (Spain's Institute for Tourist Quality).
Las Canteras Beach extends from La Puntilla to the Alfredo Kraus Concert Hall, a three-kilometre walk where different areas, each with its own characteristics, can be enjoyed: La Cícer (a surfers' paradise), Peña La Vieja (with a rocky area full of sea life), Playa Chica and Muro Marrero (the most familiar area), Playa Grande (the birthplace of tourism in the Canaries), and La Puntilla (local fishermen's last spot). La Barra, a natural reef that goes parallel to half of the beach and at only 200m from the shore, is a natural breakwater and also serves as natural shelter for swimmers and other beach users. Walking along the fine golden sand of Las Canteras when the tide is low, and during sunset, is an unforgettable experience that cannot be missed.

On Saturday 14th will take place the big party of the Festival. That day we will have the honour to count with the best music played by one of the best local bands.
That night we will have funny contests and games with awesome awards.
- Big Party
On Friday 13th we will enjoy the first party of the Festival, so we can start warming up our bodies and minds for the intensive workshops and activities that teachers have prepared for you.
We will enjoy the best music selection and atmosphere so you can let yourself go with your best swing and exhibitions of the Festival teachers.
In addition to lessons, we will have leisure time with funny parties and beach activities as well as outdoor activities.
For all this we will count on Ivan Van Wassenhove, who will come againg from Belgium to animate and energize all these activities with his contagious energy and sense of humour.
